Really bad anxiety

About a month ago my tooth broke, I have shit insurance so I couldn’t afford to get it fixed, the last two weeks I’ve been in severe pain, so as I’m googling for free clinics that might pull it for me symptoms of sepsis come up and I’m freaking out because today I’ve been sleeping ALOT, been super tired, my mouth hurts so bad, I have been cold lately but I do have an air conditioner and fan in my room going 24/7, I don’t have a fever or anything but after reading it I’m literally feeling all symptoms and freaking out, I left a message for my doctor for antibiotics because I haven’t taken any for it because I didn’t think I had an infection because my gums are normal and I don’t have an abscess at all, I figured it was root irritation not infection but now I am freaking out 😔 I know none of yous are doctors and can’t give medical advise except to go to a dentist, which I’m trying to get up the money to get it out, but I just needed to talk 😭

I had a severe infection in my leg last year that almost made me sepric.

Trust me when i say, you would KNOW if you were septic.

I had a fever of almost 103 and felt the most ill I've ever felt in my life.

And i had breast cancer 2 years ago.

Probably get the antibiotics anyway in case yoy have an inflamed root.

Tooth pain is horrible and can make you feel crappy in general.

I’m sorry you went through that, thank you for your comment it made me feel way better 😭 I have such bad anxiety in general, on top of agoraphobia (I haven’t left my house in 3 months) and have a hugeeee dentist and medication fear 😭 I’m going to get antibiotics and force myself to take them, and try to find a clinic or dentist who takes payments, thank you so much

Lexirae, if you read your post carefully you'll see that you have already acknowledged all the evidence you need to show that you do not have sepsis. Your rational brain has figured it out but the big emotional part of your brain is not letting you believe it. Trust your rational brain. It's 100 times more accurate than your emotional brain will ever be 😉

Thank you, I know, it’s just been awhile since it’s been cracked super bad, and the last few weeks have been super painful, literally radiating to my jaw, face and head, and ofcourse on top of the pain the sleeping thing, i neverrrr sleep good, and yesterday I fell asleep early (first time in years) and slept 10 hours then took 3 naps today 2+ hours each which is super abnormal for me I started googling and it got the best of me 😭 I’ve gotten to the point of contemplating ripping it out but it’s a molar 😭 I hate how anxiety works, I know I need to go to a dentist but I’m super broke right now, ugh adulting sucks lol

So, where can you get quick $ to fix this thing? Think creatively! Can you sell something online, borrow from somebody? Can you find a dentist that will defer payment? Is there anything you buy on a regular basis that you could forgo for a while? Can you write a credit card cheque to pay the dentist? Is there a lower cost dental clinic out of a university that you can find?

I don’t have anything to sell or anyone to loan me money, sadly. I’m usually the one helping everyone (I’m a tattoo artist but the last few months I’ve lost my passion and haven’t been doing much) I’m going to take a client and hopefully get to the dentist, but it’s on the clients time 😩 the dentist around me wants $150 for first visit, then they said “if” it needs to be pulled it’ll be around $350+ which I know it absolutely needs to be pulled, I’ve called every dentist, none do payment plans unless I purchase my own plan which I can’t afford, I have no credit, which apparently is worse then bad credit, so no credit card 😭 and they do have dental schools around here (once a week walk in) but you can sit there 5+ hours to be seen and even then they check you out the first time and then you come back for treatment and wait on their time and no kids allowed in the back of the schools which is impossible for me because I have two toddlers, and not a single person to watch them, no family, no friends :/ I’m all alone in this and I’ve tried everything, I live in such a shitty area no one works with you on anything and everyone lacks human decency and empathy:/

Oh man. You are stuck between a rock and a hard place. I wonder if your local television or radio station would see a story in this and agree to interview you and air it. Plight of single mother and the atrocious state of dental health care. I know it sounds far fetched but you have absolutely nothing to lose at this point and you never know....human interest stories are on local news all the time and they often set up methods for viewers/listeners to donate. Only thing is you'd have to be comfortable putting your story out there. Radio would of course offer more privacy than TV.

Is it broken bad or would it be repairable (if you're able to tell)? I took a baseball bat to the face/mouth when I was younger and had half a front tooth for an entire weekend. They were able to "bond it" which usually isn't too expensive which basically made the tooth brand new. You don't sound septic, but I would just practice the best oral hygiene possible until you're able to afford a visit. Orajel or I believe there is even over the counter temporary fixes for issues like this (I have a crown in my mouth and they sell temporary sealants). The worst is probably an exposed root or over sensitivity which is going to be common with broken or chipped teeth...drinking, eating, and even breathing cool air in the spot feels super intense. I think as long as you keep the area clean, you can make this work for a bit. I just Googled "broken tooth OTC" and there is indeed some products that can provide a temporary solution. Sorry you're running into this issue and I truly hope maybe one of the temporary solutions can provide some pain free days ahead.

I’ll add a picture to the post, it cracked on both sides of a metal filling I got yearsssss ago because I grind my teeth 😭 I have great oral hygiene, I brush, floss, and even oil pull, every single tooth problem I ever had was caused by a crack from grinding, I have a bad bite my dentist never cared to fix, I recently filled it with temporary tooth filling after thoroughly cleaning it, it cracked like a month ago but the pain got unbearable 2 weeks ago, it’s non stop, stabbing pain, crazy part is it’s not even my tooth that’s in pain, it’s sharp shooting pains in my jaw, cheekbone, and ear (I don’t have an ear infection) the tooth is my bottom right second molar, just two days ago it started getting sensitive to cold food/drinks, it’s definitely exposed nerve 😭 I want to save the tooth if possible but the one side is cracked down to my gum line 😭 thank you so much for the advice and suggestions

I added the picture

Ouch ouch ouch, that makes sense why it hurts so much :( Maybe there's something that can mold over that until you can get it fixed up. I can't imagine trying to drink and eat. I think your pain is just the trauma from the filling and break. The good thing is it doesn't look swollen or infected which bodes well for not being septic. It's definitely going to drive your ear/jaw nerves crazy from the pain. Advil or Tylenol for sure though I'm sure that only helps so much. I'll try to see if I can find any resources online (I see your in the States like me). My sister doesn't have dental insurance and had wisdom teeth pulled for a reasonable price that was a little less than what it would cost even with insurance. Hate how our medical system would let someone feel like you do instead of fixing up that tooth. If I find something, I'll be sure to post.

I'm not sure if you have one near you, but this link has some semi-helpful links. One of which is if you have a dental school near you needing "practice patients" where they'll do the work for free....of course the end of your bargain is letting a less experienced student work on you. The "next" button of that page moves you to financial options such as financial assistance and other programs. Always worth a shot so you can be pain free ASAP.

Hi Lexirae

I can imagine how painful that must be. If you go to a main chemist you can normally buy temporary filling kits. Maybe that would help until you can get a dentist sorted. Also clove oil is very effective, it numbs the area for a while.

Good luck with finding a dentist to help. x
