Anxiety about holidays

Hi I get so anxious about a week before going away on a holiday.I really want to go and look forward to it for ages before but then the anxiety takes hold. All I want to do is come home and I ruin it for my hubby who is so understanding . Has anyone anything to help me with this pleaseeeeeeeee thank you.

Tarmaclady have you ever tried relaxation therapy you can find some free ones on Google, ebay or ask your doctor if they can give you something in the short term to help reduce your anxiety this may help you enjoy your holiday more! I wish you all the best take care david

Hi , yes I’ve tried relaxation techniques doesn’t seem to work for me but Thankyou anyway

Hi we go on a lot of holidays as retired but every so often I get anxiety while on holiday. All the usual symptoms plus I lose my appetite. My husband is very sympathetic but he is wondering if it’s best not to go on any more holidays. The Doctor said I can take 5 mg Valium as that calms me down. I am already on a high dose of anti depressant. Just don’t know why I get holiday anxiety, it’s baffling. Xx

Hi Thankyou for your reply, all I want is to look forward to a holiday rather than fear it. I also lose my appetite and have a funny belly all the time I’m away .

Thanks for your advice I’ll try ask my doctor about some Valium
