Well, your girl went to the dentist alone, on the subway, and to work! I still feel weird but everyone was so nice and does not think I am crazy. Lol

I definitely feel odd.. my memory still feels shot and like this morning was a million years ago. Still getting depersonalization.. it really sucks. I freaked myself out by reading people say online theirs never went away.

Anyone else here get it/got it from Zoloft?

I had those experiences before Zoloft and on it, so I don't attribute it to the big Z. Very impressed by the day you're having!

Thank you so much! I had it just once before, I think... but this has felt like the matrix! How do you cope? I’m so freaked out it’s like not anxiety or Zoloft... and that I’m going mental. It sucks!!!

The fear of losing sanity is so common amongst our nutty little tribe.... but I've never heard of it actually happening, so there's the upside. :-)

Hi

You are doing really well and should be so proud of yourself!

I had depersonalisation with the antidepressant I take Venlafaxine, which is Effexor in the USA. I also had it with my anxiety before I started taking Venlafaxine but it certainly did go after a month or two. It is probably like all the symptoms, tends to hang around until you can stop worrying about it, which is easier said than done. I am sure you can do it.

That is reassuring! It seems to be totally out of nowhere since getting off the pill. It’s the worst!!! It makes me feel better that you had it, too. It’s so scary!

Well done! Baby steps. Each day, each moment we keep moving forward is a small victory for those of us with anxiety or any type of illness. Many moons ago when I was on Zoloft I felt the way you described. It also numbed me to my creative side which I hated. It took awhile to get back to myself after being off it. I actually got dizzy and had trouble with coordination and coherent thinking even though I weened off of it, but possibly too quickly. I took some kind of supplement at the time that fixed the issues, but now I can’t remember what it was. Possibly magnesium and zinc. Here is an interesting article for you to consider kellybroganmd.com/antidepre...

You have such positive energy, I’m hoping you are back to yourself soon😄

That makes me feel so much better. I seriously get so scared. How long were you on it? And what dosage? Do you remember how long it took to feel better?

You are the best for sharing your experience. Magnesium helps with panic (my bf let me have some of his ‘calm’ supplement) but I’m thinking I should def stock up.

I’m gonna read it now! Thanks 😊

I wish I could remember all the details to share with you. I was on and off for about 10 years. Different antidepressants. I think I was on Zoloft two or three different times. The first time I went off it I didn’t have issues. The last time I went off it I think I had been on it for several years at a rather low dose, but I don’t recall the exact dose. That was when I had the issues coming off it. I think it was because I came off too quickly. I believe it took about a month to 6 weeks to get it out of my system. Similar to how long it takes to get on it, I was really sensitive to it though as I always got crazy flulike sick when starting it which lasted for several days. I’ve been off antidepressants for 16 years.

A piece of advice to all of you younger people out there is to start a health journal. I only wrote down a small amount of my health journey from my 20s. Now that I’m in my 50s it’s hard to recall all the details, but often doctors particularly homeopathic want to know your history.

Thanks so much for sharing. Yes, it seems the lower doses are the trickiest to come off at times. I was only on the pill for a month, with 2 weeks of tapering included.. and let me tell you. I didn’t look up any side effects of withdrawal but the first day I cut my pill in half, I felt like I was going to faint in the shower. I cannot believe the psychiatrist said it was all in my head and withdrawals aren’t real on 25mg.

I just got a panic attack and I’m so so sleepy; I’m not sure what’s up but I’m sure it’s from stress or the withdrawals.. hmm. Thank you so much for sharing. My neurologist said it’ll be 6-8 weeks til I’m back up and running. ❤️
