Citalopram Withdrawal

I've been on repeat prescriptions for Citalopram for over 2 years now, and have always renewed my prescriptions. I went to my local pharmacy yesterday (a few days/less than a week after when they are prescribed) and they should have had my prescription available, but didn't and they said they'd get it sorted urgently. I'm worried that without my medication the withdrawal from just a couple of days will affect me badly. I use citalopram mainly for depression, although it also helps a lot with anxiety, but as I have a lot of stressors in my life right now, I'm a little worried that I won't be able to cope as well as I do on my meds.

I called again today and they said a prescription hasn't come in today, even though my doctor and the pharmacy are 'linked'. I'm unsure how else to go about getting a repeat prescription while working a full-time job with a long daily journey.

I'm probably just getting anxious and paranoid, but I'd love some advice about how best to get Citalopram, or just an emergency prescription in general, at short notice.

Thanks.

Hi Hannah

I think it would be best to contact your doctors as they should be able to sort it out . Sometimes they stop the prescriptions if they want to review your medication or for some other reason but they are the people you need to talk to about this. I hope you manage to sort it out.
