Derealization / Zoloft withdrawal

This IS derealization, right? I was just out and all of a sudden it was like it felt weird I was where I was, everything felt unfamiliar.. it wasn’t like I forgot I was in Boston but it was weird that I was/it felt far away. I freaked out hardcore and cried in the car. Zoloft messed me up SO bad. When am I going to get this crap out of my system?! I’m supposed to have it 100% out of my system tomorrow but I’m sure the effects will continue.. it’ll be 2 weeks then.

Hi well as it can take up to 6 weeks to get fully into your system I guess it can take a while to leave it. Derealisation is very unsettling but it won't harm you so try not to panic if it happens again. Just deep breathe and it will pass.

Maybe you are tapering off too quickly? Could you try a small dose then do it more slowly next time? x

True ❤️ I was only on it for 4 weeks in total but I spend two weeks tapering, and I was originally on 25mg. I was told I could just stop after 2 weeks but a pharmacist said to taper as I reacted poorly to it. Ugh! Thank you so much ❤️❤️❤️❤️

I get the same thing like a wtf moment, like sometimes things look farther away then they like I’m kind of zooming myself while being in a dream 😩

I read that can happen!! For me, it’s almost like everything look sooo unfamiliar.. like “where am I” but I know where I am.. it’s TERRIBLE :(

Same! Sometimes I’m like where am I and things look hyperrealistic sometimes it’s so scary, I have two kids, and the other day I looked at my daughter like who are you for a second then snapped back in 😩 anxiety messes with the mind soooo much 😔

Omg that happened to me!!!!! My boyfriend looked almost unfamiliar. It was SO weird. It makes me scared I’m going nuts!!!! You poor thing! You will get through it! Do fluorescent lights trigger yours? They do mine.. so weird.

This happens to me all of the time and sometimes it will just come out of the blue! It sucks, but I know it will always go away if I just don’t let it bother me and trust that I will be better. Sometimes it will go away in an hour sometimes a few minutes sometimes a day or two. Although, it doesn’t scare me that much anymore since I know it gets worse if I give it attention and become anxious. Give it time, it will go away

Check your blood. Your iron, ferritin, b12, folic acid, zinc, vitamin D, magnesium. Check everything you can, to be sure your problems are not physical. Like i believe its very connected to a physical type of things. Doctors will rare mention that. Which is really confusing.

Also, depersonalisation is something everyone experience at some point.

Just check yourself to be sure.

Best wishes to you!
