I don’t have any experience of this medication, so I couldn’t give you examples of how it was for me ..but I’m guessing it’s different for everyone, when starting new meds. The best people to approach are the medics who prescribed them...I would let them know what you are struggling with while in the early stages, although they should be given time to adjust for, you, it is good to check out whether side affects your having are ok to have..and to continue with..
I know new meds can affect us initially at times. But check out at regular intervals your concerns with the professionals..while you are adjusting to them. Maybe a phone call.
I wish you all the best and hope the new meds’ regulate for you ok and help you a lot.
Hi I’m taking celexa ( citalopram) i had diarrhea as well nausea increased anxiety feeling weird etc. Im it’s almost my third week now and i can feel it’s starting to work. I have better days ups and downs but i can definitely feel that it’s starting to kick in. Hang in there. I’m on 20mg. I have night sweats like waking up soaking wet.
Headaches and diarrhea are common side effects of Celexa, but they should go away after two weeks or so. If you're really miserable, let your doctor know.
I was on Celexa for years and it helped me tremendously. It really settled me down. Since I don't know what your health issues are, I can't speak to that, but I took it to help my depression, along with Effexor.
I would suggest calling your doctor if you don't feel better in a week or so. They may be able to suggest something to stop the side effects or try you on something else. It was a wonderful drug for me, and I hope it will be for you, too. All the best~
