Hey, I'm a 21 year old male and over the last few weeks I've had a constant pressure in my head. In the morning it is barely there then throughout the day it just intensifies. I've got bad pain in the back of my neck too and I have been to the doctors twice and they asked me a few questions and think it's coming from my neck and prescribed me with anti inflammatories. I am moving to vietnam soon to work so could it be due to stress of moving even though i don't feel stressed or anxious besides a butterfly nervous feeling in my stomach all the time too. I really worry about it, I think about it all day every day. Any help?
Constant Head Pressure and neck pain - Anxiety Support
Constant Head Pressure and neck pain
Hi Jesse1807, Welcome to the support forum. It sounds like stress has taken hold
of the muscles in your neck. Those butterfly feelings in your stomach are a part of
the anxiety issue. I could see how the move you are anticipating can cause these
issues. I've always held my own anxiety in the back of my neck which led me to
feel increased pressure in my head and even muscle tension headaches.
It doesn't have to be forever. Something as simple as taking out some time each
day to totally calm and relax your mind will in turn relax your body as well.
Ten or fifteen minutes of some "me time" each day will help you over this bump
in the road. Keep in touch with your medical doctor before the trip. A therapist
might be able to address your concerns regarding the move but not sure you have
the time right now.
I have many videos on YouTube that I turn to that help release the tension.
Relaxation techniques that address the muscles in the neck, face and jaw
can be helpful. I also found that heat wraps around my shoulders and neck
have an instant relief to the tight, taunt muscles. When tense, we tend to
carry our shoulders up by our ears. The heat reminds me to drop my shoulders
and just breathe slowly. Keep coming back to this site and we will help get you
through this. Wishing you Peace & Calm my friend. x
Thankyou so much. Yeah it's mainly just the pressure in my head that bothers me it just doesn't seem to go away just feels less intensified when I'm not focusing on it. I don't feel stressed about going away though but could it be causing these symptoms through anxiety and that im just not consciously feeling anxious?
Thank you for the response!
