Burning sensation ?
Yep I get it all the time! It’s the worst
Hi worrier,
I get burning sensations throughout my body. It’s actually a pretty common symptom of anxiety. I’ve had all kinds of tests and they all came back normal. I know firsthand how unpleasant it feels. You might want to talk to your doctor just to make sure it isn’t something else but this is a common symptom of anxiety.
Yes!
Where are you burning from? I'm getting a burning sensation in my stomach. What helps is deep breathing

Check this out as it lists the never ending symptoms of anxiety. I haven't had the burning as much as I think it was reflux, but it's bothersome. After reading this list once, it's amazing how much of what seems to be something else ends up just being anxiety. I suffer from palinopsia (check that one out on Google) occasionally and my doctor chalked that up to anxiety as the pupils dilate (tunnel vision) as a response to the "fight or flight" defense mechanism. The good message of all this is your body is normal in trying to defend itself, it just sucks that it's doing too good of a job. The deep breathing mentioned above is one of the best responses you can counter with it as it promotes the nervous system to return from "fight or flight" to "rest and digest" (our anti-anxiety response). Meditation and mindfulness can go hand in hand with the deep breathing depending on what you feel most comfortable with. Feel better and have no fear If other things pop up and/or you feel it's in your best interest to get this checked out, I would do so. Hope you feel better soon!
Like all of the people commenting on here, I get them too, especially in areas where I am unconsciously looking for the symptoms to occur. There is such a thing as self perpetuating symptoms. If you read something online about burning being a symptom of something and you're in a heightened state of emotion or panic when you're reading or after reading it then your brain will latch onto that information and will create these feelings thinking that it is helping to protect you from something that isn't happening.
Equally, random burning sensations are normal sensations that everyone feels but normally people a) don't notice them because they aren't looking for them or b) don't react to them and chalk them down to the usual sensations of the human body.
I'm a scientist and this is very much the outcome of our learnt behaviours over time way back when we used to protect ourselves from predators in the wild. Those who would survive and produce offspring would be the ones with the best fight or flight responses to react to stimulation such as a predator in tall grass etc. Today we have no such stimulus but our brain is still very advanced and an expert in reacting to fear. When you have anxiety about health or social situations then our brain tries to protect by going into hyperdrive. The only way to help yourself is to accept the unknown which I know is scary and difficult but you will find happiness this way.
Yes, the top of my head starts to burn sometimes when I get sudden anxiety, like from being in a room with my food allergens. I used to think it was the start of a reaction, but then I noticed I could control it with deep breathing. It has happened a few times with regular anxiety and not just food anxiety. It always goes away once I can calm down, which sometimes involves leaving the room/situation.
Thank you everyone for your responses . They are very helpful !
