Anxiety sensations and feeling

I have read many posts about different sensations and I think that upsets me the most. One time its a dizzy smell, another time its heart palpitations, another time hot/cold, another time sense of disconnection. I guess what I am trying to say its many different feelings but all with the same single cause.. Anxiety or panic. I sometimes think I have it under control and that is when it gets me the most. I feel alone and disgusted with it and I try not to give it a voice, but it wants to talk. My therapist said you have to allow it calm to light and accept and manage it. I do that MOST of the time, but sometimes I am just tired and it takes over.. negative thinking and health concerns. I over think the body sensations and think its much worse then it is. Its not as bad as it has been in the past, but its hard to function sometimes and knowing we have to appear to just be fine-- makes it difficult. I am trying to live for today instead of worrying about tomorrow, but I am so use to living months ahead of time. I have wasted so much time.... its sad. I accept, but sometimes its hard to deal with it. We read every book and relaxation method, we try to exercise, eat right and take a medication that might help.. but it still shows up. Doctors sometimes only want to treat the true medical issues and hand us meds to "relax". I was told I cant blame everything on anxiety by my doctor from the last visit.

Anyway.. just one of those days.. it will pass

Hi, I can relate to your post with everything you said. I’m in the same situation that your dealing with anxiety, depression. It’s a battle every day to cope and manage it. My therapist too said I need to accept it. Use my coping skills I learned and exercise, be in nature daily. Talk to myself with positive affirmations daily. Be with very close family and friends, distract my mind with hobbies, I need to be consistent, strong and be very patience with myself. And it will get better. And there are a lot of times I’m exhausted, it’s a battle to do all of these thing now, not like before it was a norm for me. It takes its toll on my emotions. Everyday dealing with with the physical symptoms/sensations are the worst, because I associate it with a cancer or disease even when my Dr. Tells me my full panel blood work is all good. And I’m physically fine. For me to go home and always second guess his opinion. It sucks!!! Living like this. Anyway, My thinking is do the best we can to manage our stress, anxiety, depression, ptsd in this life time, try to enjoy the moments of that little feelings of happiness when it comes then goes. Have faith that at the end of our life here on this earth there’s something much better on the other side to look forward too. Thanks.

It always does pass, but you have to believe it. Sometimes it take days or weeks to feel better, but it does pass. I just sometimes dont understand why it flares up, but it does

I felt like I wrote this post! I know you wrote this 6 months ago, but I’m glad I found it! Makes me look deeper into myself and realizing I’m not the only one going through this even tho sometimes I feel alone. Thanks for all your postings ❤️

Thank you! I have my challenges too, but I try to stay positive and realize it does pass. You control the anxiety it shouldnt control you. (if that makes sense). Accept it, take care of it and try and forget about it :)

Does the Xanax help these symptoms?

Yes, it calms the sensations and the thoughts. It takes about 30 minutes to start working and lasts for about 4 hours. It just depends on how intense and the dosage.

It is .25 mg ... so did you have any side affects from it

that is a low dosage and you should be ok, but take it at home first to make sure you feel comfortable. Dont look for side effects and keep you mind busy on something else after you take the pill.

It just makes me relax.. sometimes sleepy later in the day, but nothing bad. It is probably how we are suppose to feel when our mind and body relax.

Hi,

Acceptance is such a vague concept, and one that people truly have a difficult time with. True acceptance brings recovery. Acceptance of it all. It is changing your mind completely about anxiety. It is an attitude shift. It involves changing your beliefs about anxiety and all that it brings- symptoms, thoughts, all of it. It is a new way of thinking about anxiety. Acceptance is not "putting up with", "continuing to fight", "tolerating". Acceptance is learning to let your anxiety be while living alongside it- doing normal things, while anxiety watches you carry on despite its messages to "run! Freeze!" . slowly but surely it learns that there are truly few real threats out there. Acceptance involves you having the correct reaction to anxiety when it throws fearful, negative thought after thought after thought at you. Anxiety settles down when the right approach is taken. After much practice, people feel "normal" again. A bit of a changed person, of course, because changing beliefs and attitudes translates to changing some of the core of who you are. But not completely overhauled. It's OK to change, and in this situation, change is imperative. If you look at the resources I like so much (on my profile) you can learn more about true acceptance and how it brings complete recovery.

Wishing you all the best!
