I had that when I had a severe bout of anxiety. They gave me numbing drops for 10 days, and it now when it shows up off and on it only lasts about an hour as I've learned to ignore it. But I didn't have any pain it was just the clicking and rattling maybe feel plugged for a minute but no pain. If this might be something to try you just have to ask your doctor if he feels comfortable giving you numbing drops or what they might suggest. Good luck hope this helps. Gentle hugs!!
Wait numbing drops? How does that work how does it make the ears feel ? Also thanks for your words 🙏🏻
They just numb the eardrum and the noise should stop. Have you tried peroxide in your ear? It pops and crackles but if you got was in the canal by the eardrum it will get rid of it in case it's excess wax buildup. My boys ENT specialist makes me put a cap in each ear twice a day for 3 days before their appointment to loosen it up but theirs get terrible clogged. I do it when my ears feel clogged. Good luck and gentle hugs!
I've had that in the past, it's really annoying! In my case it was caused by excess ear wax and it disappeared after I went to the nurse to get it syringed out with warm water. I'm in the UK and they only recently started doing this again relatively recently because they used to think it caused perforation of the ear drum but maybe they use a lower pressure now or something. They normally advise dripping a little warm but not hot olive oil into the ear 2 or 3 times a day to see if that softens it first but if your ear wax is hard like mine it's difficult to shift and may need drops from the doctor/nurse. Hope my advice is relevant to you, the system might work differently where you are but here we're normally expected to seek advice from a pharmacist or nurse for something like that before seeing the doctor. Maybe your sinuses are inflamed after that cold, in which case any part of your face or head could be bunged up. Either way, that's just my experience but medical advice is probably your best bet. Hope it clears up soon x
