Antidepressant side effects

I’ve had anxiety and depression on and off for years. Was on Paxil 19 years ago... it worked . I stayed on it for two years but went off because of weight gain. I did well for about 12 years until life happened and I’ve tried about 5 antidepressants since. I stopped all because of side effects. I gave all the appropriate time to work except for the Effexor. The latest cymbalta I stopped two months ago and Effexor a few days ago. I’m desperate. Oddly I feel better at night. Any suggestions are welcome.thx.

Hi! So is Paxil and absolutely out of the question? Maybe you try it at a lower dose to see if it will work

I had asked my dr about it a few years ago and for some reason he didn’t want to put me on it and I don’t remember why. I’ll have to ask again.

Seroxat (same as Paxil) works great for me. Yes I do have an increased appetite but I just want to be better and not having panic attacks daily and suicidal thoughts. So benefits outweight the cons. I tried Prozac before Seroxat and I was horrible. If Paxil works for you, I think you should help yourself and give it a shot one more time. Try to eat healthier while taking it and to maybe walk more to minimise the weight gain

I weaned myself and was off in two weeks. No withdrawals it’s Paxil. But cymbalta was horrendous. I was only on it for 3 months and experienced what I learned was cymbalta withdrawal syndrome. Now I guess I’m shell shocked and afraid to try anything. I’m alone so-it makes it scarier.
