Yes, it's quite common. Your body and mind have been use to the zoloft and it's unsettling when you make changes. You might try tapering slower to give yourself more time to adjust. Also try being gentle with yourself and accept that you are probably going to feel rougher before you feel better. Also, try minimizing the other stressors in your life while you are going through this so you can take care of your self during the process. It can also take a few weeks or more when you are finally off the zoloft for the effects to leave your system.
Thanks for your reply I’ve taken a small bit of tablet today hopefully I can have a near normal day but anxiety levels are so high atm I feel like I want to scream/cry!! Was only on a small dose as well.
I can definitely sympathize with your anger and frustration. What I found and which is quite common with a lot of people is that the zoloft did not eliminate my anxiety. I found that klonopin helped the most at reducing my ruminating but again, it did not eliminate my anxiety. I found that working with a therapist helped and educating myself about anxiety and how to accept it made the most progress. I know it sounds like b.s. but the key to recovery is in accepting the anxious thoughts and feelings and no longer fearing them. Check out videos and books by Claire Weekes and other current info and programs on accepting anxiety, hope this is helpful.
