in recent year, ghost and supernatural stories are trending in where i live
at first i used it to counter my anxiety, because (personally and) evidently, the fear of horror stories help me to counter my constant negative thought, but now it backfires.
I'm so afraid of ghost I can't sleep, it's been months now, I'm so scared if i fallen asleep, there will be something "astral" or "unworldly" lie besides me, even if I'm tired and if i start to feel my self asleep, i will try to stay woke because i don't want suddenly awakes and see ghosts watch me asleep or something, until i heard my room neighbor come back home and make some noises that doesn't feel "supernatural" before i dare to sleep. since i heard supernatural stuff doesn't like electronic stuff i will forced my self to watch video or netflix all night long, my neighbor usually back home at two or three in the morning,
it's been happened for months now, and i have ceased all horror entertainment since then, but i'm still afraid. lack of sleep makes me tired, hard to wake up in the morning (Results in i lose my jogging time which help my anxiety) i tend to drinks more coffe, eat more sweets to stay awake in the office results in weight gain (i'm trying to lose weight here)
please give me advice, i know this is stupid, i don't give two damn to ghosts and other being when sun is up, but when night is come i feel so different and start to think they might be real.
please i want to sleep, i know this is childish and i am afraid to tell this to anyone close to me

Very brave if you to share this here. Your “ghost” doesn’t stand a chance against you. Many people create characters or abstracts to embody their emotions. These creatures or ghosts feel real to them and you. No worries about the real ness part. It’s not about whether ghosts exist or not....yours frightens you at night and you need to sleep
yes, i can't even tell this to my closes friends, because i'm afraid they will be repulsed by my conditions, so what can i do to get rid my fear? do you have any advice?
if my "ghost" image is something i created to embodied emotions, what kind of emotions it could be? honestly i've been afraid of everything can go wrong for every aspects in my life
You don't sound childish at all to me. I don't like being alone at night and must fall asleep to the tv set to a timer to turn off after 60 minutes. I just fear that someone has silently entered the house. I think it all started when I was a young child and came across a scene from the original black and white version of Dracula on tv...scared the pants off me. Definitely if I see anything scary on tv and I'm alone that night, it will be the first scene to pop into my head the second I turn the lights off 😳. I deal with it by locking the bedroom door and keeping my cell phone next to me, with tv set to timer. And sometimes just covering my head with the sheet makes me feel impervious 😳. Do you believe that all supernatural beings are malevolent or is there room for well intentioned or confused ones? How about Patrick Swayze's ghost in Ghost? He was there to protect his love (don't watch that movie if you haven't seen it, there is a scary scene). Or Reese Witherspoon' s ghost in Just Like Heaven (funny and no scary scenes so watch it if it's available to you). Her character dies in a crash but she thinks she's still alive, so when she finds a new tenant has moved into her apartment she insists that he is an alcoholic who has mistaken her apartment for his and hilarity ensues (and they end up falling in love). My point is, what if you changed the way you think of supernatural beings as protectors or angels sent from above, or humourous beings that are "caught between worlds and don't know it yet"?, rather than beings that want to do you harm as most often depicted in our culture which has no basis in anything really it's just to sell movies. Have you tried facing your fear in your imagination? Really, what's the worst case scenario if a ghost did appear in your room and go through it in your mind. How would you feel? Likely freaked out for a couple seconds, then you would likely decide to stay or flee the scene based on the feeling you get from its presence. What would you do? Would you stay and ask it some questions or wait for it to speak? Is it possible that you would feel fascinated by its presence or see beauty in it? Could it be there to send you a message of love or peace? If so, would you look forward to this encounter instead of fearing it? On the other hand if you decided to make a run for it based on your assessment upon its arrival, could you plan the route in your head and decide where you would go and who you would call? Perhaps thinking of it in concrete terms this way will help take some of the fear and uncertainty out of it ☺️
thank you very much for go all trouble to reply me,
well my image of ghost is the scary one, see in my country there is raising trend of supernatural ritual to gain fortune or any worldly benefit like charming people to love them, well the society i live in is very thick with culture heresy and quackery, i'm not sure how to translate this to english, probably close with voodo/hoodo system and satanic, for worshipping demon, etc. the paranormal in this show is always drawing something scary it haunting, honestly because this show, i hardly believe any idea of fun kind ghost like casper.
this show is deeply rooted with assimilation between historical myth and religion, so there is no fun way to see ghost like hollywood depict it. the show is sometimes looks bogus, but often looks genuinely concrete and real, it used to be fun, now it's troubling
