Anxiety was better today

A huge amount of my anxiety is because of health issues with one of my dogs. He has had 2 major spinal surgeries in the past couple of years, and we have had constant rehab, etc. Just so he could walk again. I think this history, plus my OCD tendencies, cause me to freak out even when he has something minor. Now, for instance, he has a small aural hematoma. It's not serious, and it will go away. My mind automatically goes to the worst case scenario and I am fixated on it. Today I called the vet and just explained I was having a lot of anxiety. It really helped for him to put this into perspective and reassure me. I also did Christmas shopping, which distracted me for a bit. I know I'll continue to have anxiety and panic, but happy with this small victory today.
