Sleepless with Sertraline 50mg

Hello All, I am on Sertraline 50mg for two weeks now. I start feeling slightly better. The beginning was awful - I was feeling weird, several panic attack during the day and nights, can't sleep at night or day, headache. I was feeling depressed and anxious.

After two weeks, the side effects started to diminish, the only thing that persist was sleep. I still can't sleep at night. Usually, I read a book before I go to bed when I start feeling sleepy and tired. I go to bed and as soon as put my head in my bed the sleep is gone - I am fully awake. I don't understand. It has been more than two month like this and it is affecting my relationship and my professional life.

Anyone experiencing the same way or has an idea or a solution to this problem

Cheers all.

Moh

I started taking 50 mg of Zoloft for 2 weeks and I couldn’t sleep had hot flashes and was more anxious. And my doctor up it to 100mg and I been on it for 2weeks I have notice am getting more sleep but my depression is still there. Sleep, energy, or appetite may show some improvement within the first 1-2 weeks. Improvement in these physical symptoms can be an important early signal that the medication is working. Depressed mood and lack of interest in activities may need up to 6-8 weeks to fully improve.

I don’t know what time of day you take the pill, but I take mine first thing in the morning, and I’m usually tired at night. I also take 50mg

Thanks Littlemissbedford.

A reply always beneficial.

I hope after the third week I will be able to sleep normally

I would say give it another week or two, I'm going back to my doctor after four weeks and then if I've had improvements IL know they are settling into my system and working. I thought when I started I was expecting overnight miracles, but you have to give it time, also the dose is low so can be put up and this may help you sleep if your no better in a week or so. I did read that someone takes them in the morning and sleep better, we are all different but lunch time works for me and I'm sleeping all night now. Please let me know how you get on via message, I would love to hear how your feeling in a week or two

Good luck and best wishes

X
