Hi Ckd123...

Seroxat/paxil/paroxetine does have a bad reputation for bad withdrawal if not tapered properly when coming off them, etc.

For me, Seroxat saved my life..first few days i felt really awful but after a week i was a different person literally.

Everyone is different and it worked so fast for me, i was shocked.

Give it a try..if you have been prescribed it then obviously you are not in a good place so you have try it to make yourself feel better..

I'm sure others will be along to offer more advice..

Hope this helps a little..

Goodluck

Thanks so much, I am in a really bad place at the moment with severe anxiety, I don’t have depression but obviously dealing with chronic anxiety makes me a bit depressed!

I’v been reading horror stories online about Paxil but some good ones like yours aswell. No harm to give them a go I suppose x

Wow just wow 😮 why are doctors still prescribing this? I am well and truly turned off taking it now.

Hi I don't recommend you this medication. I have been taking seroxat since 2012. It really helped me a lot at the beginning but after about a year of taking it I started to feel bad again

Not as bad as I did before but not good. I did not have any pannick attacks but felt not well non stop. It absolutely destroyed my sexual appetite and ability to feel anything down there ☺️. I didn't have any other side effects. So I thought. Last year I decided to stop taking it as it did not work any more . And the horror just started. It is just hell going off of seroxat. I am still taking it, going down as slow as possible it's been a year now. Unfortunately doctors have no idea (at least my doesn't) what medication they are prescribing. If you have that possibility try to ask for different type. If not this one will help you too but be aware that if you ever decide to stop taking it you are going to suffer.

Good luck whatever you decide to do.

Thanks Chilout. Venlafaxine (Effexor) made me lose all sexual desire so I came off it. I’m not going through that again, it’s not fair and me or my husband!

I’m going to ring GP tomorrow and ask for a prescription for something else. Nearly everything I read about this drug is bad 😐

Weening off Prozac at the moment as it no longer has any effect on my anxiety!

Is it very hard to wean of Prozac? Do you have any withdraws?

I’m actually finding it very easy at the moment coming off the Prozac. I have an on/off slight niggly headache and I get the odd wave of nausea during the day but other than that, nothing at all thankfully.
