Lumps under armpit
Hi Lyns1411, there are many reasons for lumps under the armpits. A possible infection can allow the lymph nodes to swell as it takes on it's job to keep the infection from spreading. Also small fatty deposits called Lipomas can present under the armpits usually do not hurt unless pressed on. Ingrown hairs producing cysts can cause severe pain when moving your arm. The only way to know what it is and have it treated is to see your doctor who will run the appropriate tests. I wouldn't jump to cancer as the first diagnosis. Other things can come into play first. Good Luck and try not to worry. xx
My docs isnāt open until Monday now so will I be okay waiting? Iām doing really good lately with my anxiety too but this just stresses me out cos it started hurting yesterday xx
You should be okay until Monday, not comfortable maybe but okay. I would take the idea of cancer out of your mind, hopefully that will reduce some of the stress. If you find you cannot wait until Monday, you can always go to a walk in clinic or the ER.
Feel better Lyns xx
I dont think cancerous lumps are particularly painful?but im not sure ,thats always our first thought isnt it but it could be lots of things....good luckš
I was told caffeine caused my lumps. Eliminating caffeine would be a positive approach until you speak with your doctor.
I have painful lumps under my arms as well. I went to my doctor and they said that it was a infection in the lymph nodes, so Iāve been put on antibiotics. However, I have had these for almost a year, due to other health conditions. But, I reckon yours are also in the same category! Goodluck, I hope everything gets sorted out for you soon! š
Iāve had these for about 5 days now. U canāt actually see the lumps but I can feel them under the skin when I touch it and they hurt. They hurt even when I move my arm. Does doctors normally do tests or do they just check to see if they can feel the lumps?
Yes Iām the same, you canāt see my lumps under my arms. However, recently I have started to see some because they have gotten bigger. Mine hurt when I move my arms aswell, so donāt worry youāre not alone! They do blood tests and they check them, so they will have a look. But, if itās too painful they will not touch them. As they wonāt want to cause you too much pain! X
Hey! Sorry youāre having some anxiety about this! But i would like to provide you some comfort in telling you that cancerous lumps are not particularly painful! I usually find some relief when i find i lump or bump thatās painful for that reason! id also like to relate with you and tell you that i too have a lump under my armpit i found it when i was 19 when it hurt to lift my arm and of course FREAKED OUT unlike you though i never went to get it looked at because i was terrified and the pain went away a day or two later (please get yours checked) i just kept an eye on mine and it never grew and never shrunk.. but Iām telling you this to tell you that Iām 25 now itās still there and Iām perfectly healthy! So just take some deep breaths and relax until Monday. Your doc will deliver you good news and youāll be healthy too!
