I am a 46 year old woman who has experienced my foot getting caught on the sidewalk and had started to experience weakness around my mouth. I went to the doctors and told her about my concern about ALS. She diagnosed that the mouth weakness is due to TMJ and had me get an X-ray for my foot that showed mild arthritis in my knee. She has dismissed my knee and concern about ALS . In the meantime I have been having leg twitching and foot cramping and also experiencing difficulty doing easy tasks such as buttoning shirts. Two years ago I was obssessed with having cancer which fortunately came back negative. My husband thinks that I am doing that same thing with ALS. I feel lost because no one will listen to me and don’t know where to turn to get answers. Does anyone have any suggestions?

The difficulty doing little things can also be caused by arthritis. If you are really worried, get a second opinion. As far as I know, ALS is fairly rare.
Believe your doctor. Also, did you read about ALS on the internet? You know how that goes...if you have a headache, it is brain cancer. If you get a rash, it is leprosy. Etc etc.
I don't have any suggestions but perhaps you can at least find some solace in knowing that I'm going through something similar. In the past month or so I've been experiencing muscle weakness and severe muscular fatigue upon performing everyday activities (e.g. brushing my teeth). My doctor thinks it's stress and anxiety. Of course I'm of the opinion that I'm suffering from a mortal illness
We have a similar concern. I'm very scared right now, as I'm sure you are as well
