Hello Everyone,

First of all I would like to thank you for allowing me to be apart of this wonderful family of brilliant minds. My name is Arenzo and I suffer from Major Depressive Disorder, & Severe Panic Attacks. I'm here to give words of encouragement and to just simply try to help in any way I can.

Hi Arenzo and Welcome to our support family. You are correct in that this is a family of men and women of all ages, all around the world. Anxiety/Depression bring us together as one. This group works because we understand the pain of struggling through each day. In sharing our life's journey with each other, it helps us in going forward as well as not feeling so alone.

We look forward to your words of encouragement as well as being there for you whenever you need a listening ear.

Who is that precious little girl? She's beautiful :) x

You suffer from severe depression and panic attacks and you want to give help and encouragement to others? You are truly a remarkable man, renzob. You deserve to recover indeed.

What trauma was it that started the ball rolling for you. The usual suspects are too much stress, over-work, worry, loss, grief, toxic relationships. You need to sort that out before anything else. Ruthlessly if need be.

On this forum many people are interested in the acceptance method for recovery. This means doing the very opposite thing to normal instinct: for example stop fighting. Fighting results in more stress hormone pumping into your system which keeps your nerves over sensitised.

Next we need to frame our minds to accept all the bad symptoms for the moment instead of rejecting them. If you can do that you lose your fear of the symptoms, the panic attacks, the bad feelings. And you stop using up nervous energy that leaves your mind depleted and leads to depression.

You will find more about this method based on the teachings of Claire Weekes, a psychiatrist who died 25 years ago aged 87 after a lifetime of helping people along the path to recovery.

So welcome renzob74g, join our discussions, check out our archive of questions and answers. I think you will find understanding, reassurance and the hope of recovery in our forum.

Hi Renzob74,

I am glad you are here. God’s blessings, I will keep you in prayer. It has been my relationship with God that has helped me through. Making sure I am obedient to his word and staying in prayer has been a remarkable source of strength for me. Again God’s blessings and welcome!
