Chest pain, low pulse, feeling off

Hey everyone, so it’s only 9am and today has already started to be a bad day. I’m up two hours and iv been having on and off chest pain. Checking my pulse and it’s 64-68 bpm which is lower than my usual 74-84 bpm. I’m just feeling off and I’m so tired already and I’m only awake 2 hours 😔 I have major heart attack fears and can’t seem to get passed them no matter what I do. It’s been two years or more since I had tests like 24 hour holter monitor, stress test etc. i’v had a few EKG’s since then and bloods done, everything seems normal but I just can’t accept it. What the hell are these unexplainable chest pains then? Why is my pulse changing? I think I’ll take a Xanax and try calm down a bit, I have myself worked up into a tizzy.

Ckd123, you've had all the tests and you're fine. You have the pulse rate of a young athlete. But you're determined to convince yourself you're ill. Even to the point of believing you know better than highly qualified, highly experienced doctors and the latest medical tests.

May I suggest as I often do here: you can't cure yourself of an illness you don't have no mstter how hard you try.

Your chest pains are muscular tension caused by anxiety. One of the 6 most popular symptoms of anxiety disorder.

I think your time would be better spent addressing the cause of your anxiety and your over sensitised nervous system rather than obsessing and stressing over the symptoms.

You are in fine physical shape. You are not in any danger. All is well with you. Sleep well. Eat well. Spend more time outside. Exercise regularly even if it's only 20 minutes brisk walking a day. Everything is going to be fine.

Thanks Jeff, deep down I know your right but when the chest pains strike my mind just automatically goes to heart attack. I then go into a panic, take a Xanax then feel exhausted and out of it for the rest of the day! I’m trying to get the funds together to go to CBT because the meds alone don’t seem to be making a whole lot of difference, at the moment I feel like they are maybe working 25% and that’s going from 20mg to 60mg per day. I hate anxiety so much, I want my old ‘normal’ self back.

May I suggest a new or used copy of Claire Weekes 'Self help for your nerves' from Amazon will bring understanding, reassurance and a path to recovery as it has for thousands.
