Prozac and Xanax

My psychiatrist prescribed me 20 mg of Prozac & .5 mg of Xanax 3 times a day until the Prozac kicks in (a few weeks). I was curious if anybody has taken either of these meds? I’ve read some scary Prozac stories online so I’m scared to start it

I take Kalma aka Xanax in Australia . 0.5 when needed . I think it’s great and most of the time I take half and it def helps . Great for having for when you need it . I can go weeks without taking one and then it could be 5 days straight . But I do not get hooked on them

I have had experience with both drugs. I took prozac for 5 weeks and did not like it. I took the drug with the assistance of a therapist. It made me feel very distant and unable to connect. I have prescribed xanax for the past few years for as needed anxiety. It works for me, but i have to take the pills to manage the symptoms. Try prozac for 5-6 weeks and see if you feel better .. if not stop the medication and see if the xanax has made your symptoms lessen. The most important thing in taking xanax is to take it. Take it until you start feeling better.
