Really need some advice on how to handle this as it is getting worse.
Whenever I eat or use anything that is new I instantly think that I am going to have an allergic reaction and convince myself that my throat is swollen, can't swallow, can't breathe, itching etc etc.
It is now at the point that if I use the same thing (say sweet & sour sauce) but a different brand, then I am going to have a reaction.
Does anyone else get this or can help please?

Anxiety disorder can express itself in many different ways but I think you've chalked up a first with this one. Your anxiety about allergic reactions comes under the heading of strange ideas.
The good news is that we are allowed to have strange ideas, they are harmless and so is this one. The feeling in your throat is just self induced as you realise. Just accept it for the time being and attach less importance to it as it's harmless and eventually you will become bored with this example of introspection and lose interest in it. Either that or you will recover from your anxiety disorder and all its symptoms including this one will pass.
I was like this after having food poisoning which at first I thought was an allergic reaction to something I ate so I get anxious eating every meal even if I know it's fine it still comes on. I went and seen a psychologist who got me through it but even now I still have second thoughts and sine anxiety when eating but it will go.
I had this for ages, but do actually have a nut allergy. I worried about it becoming anaphylaxis and it spoilt meals out for years. Then I took to carrying around antihistamines which I know would keep me alive until treatment if I got a bad dose of nuts. Weirdly since being diagnosed and having surgery for a chronic illness its gone away and my anxiety focuses on food more generally now. Perhaps me. Not eating out much is part of it and I just don't have the occasions any more.
Hi I have feelings like this with chicken not being cooked through properly, but I overcame my anxiety by cooking it again and again, nothing happened to give me reason to worry, I told myself to stop being silly, now I am confident and it worked for me. trusting something is the answer. If you have had an allergic reaction then yes it serious, so best avoid what it was, if you haven't had any reactions you will be ok. have a little at a time and work on your anxiety. it will pass x
