Day 2 on Citalopram (Celexa)

I'm not feeling anything except tired all the time along with a headache, the doctor said that's to be expected until my body gets use to the medication. I'm still extremely nervous thanks to my doctor. She says it could take up to a week to know if I'll have and allergic reactions or bad side affects, apparently it takes that long to get in the system good. I have always despised medication for the fact of side affects and allergic reactions which I have had always had.

Hello MadtownDan, I am on 10mg once a day and 25mg of hydroxyzine twice a day if needed. I have anxiety and panic disorder along with depersonalization and derealization,I'm hoping the Citalopram will help rid all of that. But I have four days left to know if I will have and bad side effects or reactions.

Well 10mg is a baby dose... I had upset stomach the first week... but it passed. It's not a happy drug per say, but it helps you move past things that make you dwell.

My doctor switched me from prozac to this medication. Did you have DP or DR?

in reply toHateanxiety

More depression... 20mg is dose for that, but I wanted to stay at 10mg for now

I hope it fixes the DP and DR. Those are the main things I can't handle. Today I'm exhausted, nauseous and have a headache.

Sounds like my day so far! It can help, sleep and diet also help a lot too... Sorry you are going through this. Sometimes we feel so alone in our symptoms it can be overbearing.

Thank you, I hope you get to felling better also. I feel almost helpless, like it will never go away. Mind find keeps telling me that I could have a bad side effect or allergic reaction anytime now,and that this medication could kill me.
