Todays goal

My goal today is to NOT GOOGLE. Boy is it hard. I have been going through anxiety for about a year now- and my symptoms have pretty much been the same. However, i feel like i havent been through these symptoms before (although I have ) and i find myself googling so much.

I was doing good for awhile, now i feel like i am back to square one.

Todays symptom: urinating a lot (sorry, TMI)! & Clinching my muscles.

I have a doctors appointment tomorrow (although i just had a physical three months ago). I still need reassuring.

Hope everyone is keeping up the good fight!💕

That goal is a fantastic goal to have hun. I find I had to erase my search history as I could Google a recipe for haddock and it would come up with heart attack stories. it's very easy to slip up and Google again as I have health anxiety so am always in tune with physical symptoms but be proud of yourself for doing this as it's extremely hard. I wonder if before smart phones people with anxiety used to sit in libraries all day reading medical books for reassurance or if the internet has caused us all to be so stressed. big hugs xxxx

Good question! I wonder what people use to do. I kind of figure it was easier to overcome when there was no internet. Thank you for your kind words!💕

That is a great goal to have. Google is no good for us. I should do the same seen as I'm a daily googler. I seem to have a new symptom each day though and surprise surprise google always gives me the worst case scenario. I hope you'll be successful in staying away from dr google

DNG- Don Not GOOGle! Many years ago, my daughter was born and I became a father for the first time. I am a very anxious person and it definitely runs in the family. There was no google, didn't even have a computer, strange hey, can't imagine now living without one. When she cried, I felt short of breath. Of course started thinking I had lung cancer. I did work as a teenager knocking down asbestos tiles in a factory, so that was on my mind. I had lung xrays and pulmonary testing and checked out fine. I still was convinced something was wrong. Back then there was a number you could call and find out the symptoms of numerous diseases, kind of like google. So I started calling many times, saw symptoms for als, so I started to twitch, went to a neurologist and had many horrible tests including spinal taps, emgs and nerve conduction. All this stress along with the baby, I started to get palps and thought something was wrong with my heart, so had tests for that. During the many tests I had a false positive for lyme, I had false positive for hepatitis, had a mild dilation of my ascending aorta and a few other things that had nothing to do with my condition - Anxiety stress disorder So it all started with a stressful event - fatherhood which was compounded from an antiquated form of google. So, don't google, let your dr. manage your care and good luck, oh also, I did have the urinating a lot symptom and that turned out to just be stress related also.

Wow, if I could get all these things done. I would. My doctor won't order a cat scan because I am not experiencing in major issues. I check my blood pressure, oxygen levels, heart, and lungs more times than I should. But no matter how many times they tell me I'm okay, I still feel like they are missing something. Health Anxiety is super frustrating.

A day in the life of an anxious person! Lol.

Health anxiety is awful. Your body through your mind can mimic symptoms. That's a living hell. Try not to Google health cause it's the worst case scenario. Just thinkin

You're welcome. You can also try theworrygames.com. She also dealt with and overcame debilitating anxiety. And if you're ever curious about if a symptom you're having is caused by anxiety. I do have a list a mile long and it covers everything I ever felt during my worst times. You're mind is a powerful thing and if you try to fight the adrenaline (Which is more than likely what you're feeling) it will just make things worse. Adrenaline and anxiety can not hurt you. You have to realize that once you get a doctor's okay that you are fine, you can stop looking for things to worry about. You're not sick, there's nothing wrong with you and no matter how hard you look more than likely you won't find anything. You need to focus your energy on something other than yourself and the way you feel. You can do it. Just be patient with yourself.
