Tinnitus driving me insane

So I have tinnitus. I have woke up with tinnitus in my left ear. I have had it on and off for years but today it is really bad. Also I am getting a weird feeling in my chest. I can only describe it as a zapping feeling that shoots across my chest and makes me go dizzy. Then I have to gasp for air. I have aches in my arms and legs too. I'm extremely tired too. Can anyone relate?

Hi I do think the zaps are anxiety related as they only really happen when I'm worrying over something. I need to book an appointment yet. I'm just at my wits end all the time.

I've had tinnitus in both ears for ten years. I've never experienced those other symptoms with it. Mine seems worse when I'm stressed, anxious, etc. Otherwise I don't think about it. Are you going through tough times right now?

I'd agree that you should go to the doctor. Maybe you're catching a cold or an infection. I think iron deficiency has been linked to tinnitus, and anaemia also linked to being tired, so maybe that could be it. Your doctor could get a blood test done just in case you need medication, vitamins, etc.

Good luck!

Thanks for replying. I have had alot of stress over the past few weeks. Bereavement, being I'll myself and just generally the stress and worry that comes with anxiety. I Think I will request a blood test. I just hate that I never used to be like this.

Sorry for your loss. With all that's been happening to you, especially around the holiday season, it does sound like stress. Your mind might be worn out and your body got worn out too. Good luck with the doctor. If you need it, now would be a great time to get bereavement support too. Hopefully your doctor can refer you.

Thankyou. Thankfully I have a good support network. I am physically and emotionally drained. My body hasn't had time to recover from having a viral infection when the bereavement occurred. I can honestly say this is the worst I've ever felt

I find that using aspirin will usually make it worse

Hi the only thing I'm taking at the moment is propanalol

One of the best cures/ relieve for tinnitus is magnesium supplements or oil spray.
