My fiance pointed out today that I haven't been getting much better anxiety wise, I've been on citalopram 40 mg for about 3 months and valium but I still can't do much unless I'm taking the valium which my prescription is out after this month. I tried to talk to my doc about maybe adding something to it but he wants to wait till I'm a year in... just feel I should be making better improvements by now...

Don't feel the success
Talk to your doctor if you think the citalopram isn't helping, there are alternatives that could be more effective and it's doctor's job to help you find the most effective one. Meds bring respite but not recovery so may I suggest self help methods outlined in various books are not overlooked as these can bring recovery.
I know the meds are a crutch but I just don't feel any different on them not happier not more excited and still having panic attacks.. I am looking into some clair weeks books and listen to stuff on utube.
Wyominganxiety, I agree with Jeff1943, after 3 months of being on Celexa, you should be feeling some kind of difference if it is the right med and dosage for you. I certainly would not want to wait until I was a year in before doing anything different. I know you understand that the meds are just a crutch but sometimes we need that crutch to work some so that we can go forward with self help methods.
Sometimes we need to get more aggressive with the doctors by becoming our own advocates. It's your life xx
Yea because right now I feel like all I'm doing is popping meds everyday and feel the same I'm getting depressed because life is passing me by, the only time i feel any relief is if I take valium and he isn't filling that prescription they jyst keep telling me it might just take more time for you.. I dk what to do
