I have just recently turned 18 and I had my first panic attack to months ago whilst struggling to breath I was shaking and felt like I was going to collapse I couldn't hold my head up without thinking I was dying. Ever since this day I have all these horrible aches and I honestly am starting to believe this is the end and that I'm dying.

I have a constant headache, sore armpits like burning feeling, can't see properly, dizziness, hearing loss, leg and arm numbness,Nose burning heartburn and loads more,I can't sleep eat or work,it's really starting to effect my life to the point I just wish it would take me. I'm so scared and worried all the time it's effecting my relationship as I constantly think about me. Please someone reassure me I'm not going crazy and that it's just anxiety. I honestly feel like I could drop dead any second now and it's terrifying

Hi Courtneyx18, I know how terrible as well as scary it can be in having all these weird unexplained sensations that start to slowly take over your life. You certainly aren't going crazy. Something happened to you, 2 months ago when struggling to breathe. It sounds like it was a rush of adrenaline that took over your body. Once a scare like that comes over us, it tends to stay around anticipating the next time it may happen. You then go into fear of the fear as well as the "what ifs". And so your body stays on ALERT, not allowing you to sleep, eat or work. It starts taking it's toll on your relationships around you. How can you not help but think about me me me since it has become so overwhelming so all consuming.

Let me assure you that at the young age of 18, your chances are very low in dropping dead any second from these obscure symptoms. It's Anxiety, nothing more, nothing less. Being on this forum, you will learn some very simple ways in ridding yourself of the anxiety. So simple that you won't believe it could work, but it does. The first thing that needs to be done is to erase the fear from your mind. I know, easier said than done.

I'd like you to go to YouTube and type in Dr. Claire Weekes Videos on Hope & Help for your Nerves. Listen to it several times. Really listen to what she is saying about Anxiety and our Over Sensitized Nervous System. Then I would suggest purchasing her book from Amazon and refer to it each and every time you have these feeling that you are going to die. Her teachings will become the foundation upon where you will build Acceptance on. Once you accept Courtney, that these are not coming from a physical issue your anxiety will start to lessen. Right now your mind is scaring you with these terrifying thoughts and your body is picking up on it and giving you the physical symptoms.

Believe that this will pass in time. You are strong, you are okay, you are safe. Nothing can harm you. Use the forum for reinforcement from other members who are going through the same thing as well as those of us who have long left anxiety behind. :) xx

I have or had all those physical symptomns and it is so terrifying, I have had every test under the sun and the only thing that came back other then anxiety was low iron and vitamin d, but yet i still questioned the drs thinking they missed something. Now I just try to ignore the symptomns, believe me its tough but I would focus so much on it that it would make them worse and my anxiety worse. Feel better soon

Hi Courtney, i suffered with panic attacks really bad about 4 years ago, they are absolutely terrible and do make you feel like your going to die cus you cant breath. The more you panic and worry the worse it gets trust me, I was put on Diazepam for a good few months and they helped, breathing techniques help such as Calm, you can get this app on Playstore, I wish i knew about this app then, as it would've helped me..

I still suffer every now n then with them but they are nowhere near as bad as they were, please try this app as i hope it will help you, and it sounds like your really suffering with your anxiety too, i think you need to go and see your doctor and talk to them about how your feeling aswell, i never wanted to take antidepressants or become reliant on them, sometimes it really does help tho if you give them a chance.

Take care

Kim
