Super forgetful

I keep getting this feeling where my mind goes blank and I forget what I’m doing or have trouble remembering things 😣 I keep worrying of a stroke everyday cause I’m home alone when I go through this. I put my arms out straight a minute ago to check the strength of them and as I did I totally forgot what I was even doing that for my mind went completely blank. It’s scaring me. I get mouth and right arm muscle weakness on and off sometimes I’m horrified I just want somebody to be here with me I feel so scared :( I don’t like that I feel forgetful what’s wrong with me? I stay in bed all day everyday except the night time because of my anxiety I literally can’t get up :( But I’m scared of these symptoms please it’s really bothering me just need the reassurance

Cognitive impairment is a large part of my symptoms. Difficulty finding words, forgetfulness, mind going blank. Mental Lethargy in a nutshell. Talk to your doctor.

haha yeah. It’s kind of difficult. What do you do to help whenever you get the cognitive impairment issues? I always worry it’s like a stroke or something cause I get muscle weakness too. My dr said I don’t need to worry about a stroke though I’m 22 and heart and cholesterol seem healthy

Hi jacknjills,

Even tough I react to anxiety in a different way I used to have health anxiety a lot..used to worry about symptoms and illnesses..

It might sounds stupid but when I did cbt therapy I used to do a " worry diary ", basically you write down your thoughts on a paper or diary wherever you want..if you can write down hour and place you had them as well..

But you don' t have to re- read them otherwise you might focus too much on the worry instead of letting It go..

You can do It whenever you worry..you might notice there's a pattern in the way you worry for exemple in particular situations..It's just a tecnique, but It helped me not having all the toughts stock in my head.

What I find helpful as well is also having general " knowledge" about physical symptoms..our mind instantly link some small and common symptoms to severe illnesses. and our anxiety refuses to think of other options and panicks..for exemple I have digestives problems a lot and knowing that headache can be caused by It will no longer make me think of a stroke as 1 option..but maybe i could just stop for a moment and take a minute and breathing..allowing me to think " ok, did i have too much Coffee today?.. What did I do? Maybe i did a long walk and i m too tired? "Many times we don't even think of common things because we are too deep in our anxiety..

I know it's easier said than done but if you can practize relating symptoms to" Less severe causes " over time anxiety will back off a little bit..

Hope you ll feel better!
