I have been laying in bed all day everyday for the past 2 Months because of the bad reaction I had to Zoloft. Now whenever I happen to sit up or come downstairs I feel aches all over is this from laying down all the time?

Lay in bed all day
Hi JackJills,
I think you have nailed it - too much bed rest!
Bed rest is welcome whenever you feel too tired to do anything and want to replenish your energy reserves, or you’re recovering from an illness or injury and don’t want to risk any complication.
Prolonged bed rest is not always beneficial to the human body; on the contrary, spending several days in immobility leads to a series of effects that are scientifically referred to as “deconditioning”, and these effects can severely affect your body as living organism.
One may believe that the muscles are the only ones affected when a person is taking bed rest, the lack of physical activity can also affect the cardiovascular and respiratory systems, the digestion, renal function, nervous system, skin and immune function.

Hi BlackCat,
Thanks for your reply.
I am a bit worried cause I get a lot of dull aches behind the breast area in my chest and arms and back. My family thinks it’s cause I have been laying in bed all day everyday I’m always worried it’s a health problem like I’m so paranoid of having a heart attack or stroke. I’m 22 years old. I get like a dull aching in my chest. I suppose maybe it’s just that my muscles aren’t used to being worked anymore maybe hats why im feeling this way? Thank you for your information and the link. I will have a look
Yes, there is some truth in the saying, move it or lose it.
Going for a walk every day is a good way to gently build up your fitness.
