Is this normal?

Hello there, everyone! How are you? I'm doing quite alright but wish I was even better.

Anyways, I came on here tonight, anxiety decided to come around and scare me. I am so tired of this. But I just got finish eating and it was fried fish + french fries. Which were salty. My mom gave it to me and at first I didn't want any but I was hungry so I had to eat. But getting to the point, after I finish eating, I felt some tightness in the chest.

It made me nervous to the point where it got worse. I had to Google (bad bad thing) and to see if it's normal but wasn't. I took it to the extreme that it was going to bother my blood pressure and lead me to having a heart attack afterwards. πŸ˜”

Has anyone else experience the same thing when it comes to eating salty food? Does it trigger anxiety?

Please answer. πŸ’œ

It may not be the salty food that triggered your anxiety but rather your reaction to the chest pain, anxiety can have you believing all kinds of nonsense, don't be disheartened xxx

Just one of the tricks anxiety plays on you when you least expect it. Nothing to be worried about.

i get anxiety/physical symptoms when i eat sweet food! i think it triggers me because when i had one of my worst panic attacks i was chewing sweet gum. with anxiety, any physical symptoms that you're afraid of even in your subconscious can manifest and trick you

Oh yes, caffeine is a big trigger to my anxiety! I tried my best to stay away from them and it come from the not caffeine drinks too. πŸ˜› But yes, they can, I agree with you! Thanks for replying πŸ’œ

Deanna, if it's any consolation I spent years with food causing me a majority of my anxiety symptoms.

I did not ever associate the anxiety with food, so i anchored my anxiety, to going on a date, dinner out with family, road trips, vacations etc......

By accident I went to a bookstore and the author of Eat Right for Your Type was giving a lecture.

I get heartburn/chest tightness basically every time I eat.. my anxiety and panic stem from any and all types of chest pain. I'm totally anxiety Free until I eat.. so I have went back to my wight watchers and have been feeling so much better. I definitely can tell which foods cause my anxiety. Also I don't eat anywhere near bedtime, because bedtime is already hard for me with my anxiety. Best of luck to you

I stop eating late cause it gives me heartburns and disgusting after taste lol. But I can't remember any foods I eat that triggers anxiety? Well, that honey bun I had before. That sent me into a full blown one.

Not going to do that again. Neverrrrr!! Lol. But thank you! πŸ’œπŸ˜Š
