Zoloft (sertraline) is like all the antidepressants, depends on your biology as to well it works and the tolerance levels. You have to take it and see what happens. It has been used for 25 years so must be useful medication.

Just wondering if you went off Celexa (Citalopram) for any reason? Doctors usually try the previous med that worked before if you are going back on meds.

Please remember that It's still your decision which one you wish to take in conjunction with the doctor's clinical experience

I've been on both Celexa and Zoloft. As you may know, both are SSRIs and work extremely similarly. Did you just recently come off the Celexa? Did you have any side effects on the Celexa?

Zoloft worked AMAZING for my anxiety and depression. I took it for nearly 10 years extremely successfully before I became pregnant and my obstetrician switched me to Celexa because she was more comfortable with that during pregnancy. It did take my body about a week to get used to Zoloft. Bear in mind that that was the first Antidepressant I had ever taken though. I mainly had nausea but it helped to have a little snack before taking the medication. There was also some drowsiness at first, but I started taking it at night and that helped with that. I do remember the anxiety began lessening pretty quickly.

Just give it a2 week trial and I bet you'll be happy you did.
