Any advice?? I drink a bottle of wine to myself almost every night (13%)... I don't know why I do, I struggle with depression and anxiety anyway and started drinking, but now I'm getting angry with it or short tempered. I'm trying to keep strong for my family and I keep a job down, but I know it's not right and I'm scared to do anything. I'm worried because I don't show my emotions I'll get overlooked when seeing professionals.... I donno what to do! 😭 I know it's not healthy, but for some reason I keep drinking and it's increasing as I'm getting better at handling the alcohol 😢

Alcohol Again!
Well on a positive note red wine is good for you. If you hold your emotions in and you drink then you're going to get angry because it loosens you up and lets it flow. All that pent up frustration isn't good. You should wait till no one is around and get your anger out or actually say what you need to say to the people you need to say it to and stop holding it in.
Remember alcohol is a depressant and can actually worsen anxiety as it drops serotonin levels. So once the alcohol wears off we tend to be anxious. I drank a lot last night myself and have been feeling anxious all day. Im good with a having a few beers but once I overdue it, my anxiety goes through the roof. Try substituting alcohol with something else like a snack or maybe exercise.

Hi. Alcohol is not the answer. I was a binge drinker I would stay alcohol free for a few months then go on a bender until all my money I had saved up was gone. I got terribly depressed for days I now live in a flat I'm single & alcohol free for10 years. If you drink everyday as you do then you have a drink problem & you need to own up to that. Ask your doctor for help he/she will be able to help you through medication & other professional help. Hope you get yourself sorted out. Sam.
