I`m emetophobic, & wrote a post about it on a facebook site. I had a reply from someone saying that everyone vomits throughout their lives, & it`s inevitable that I will be sick someday in the future. I haven`t been sick for decades, & In the past I got sick enough times to be sure that Iv`e fulfilled my expected quota. Also, I`m not that young anymore, & people throw up less often as they age, so why would someone want to rattle my cage by telling me that I still must throw up in the future? Iv`e managed not to get sick for such a long time now, that surely I can make it to the end of life without vomiting ever again?

I completely understand your fear, having struggled with it for as long as I can remember. Everyone is different but I have heard that those who fear throwing up tend not be as sick as others because their bodies have learned to fight the urge even when they feel ill. I personally have gone through two pregnancies with horrendous morning sickness but somehow managed to refrain from throwing up...even though I felt like it 24/7.
As for the person that posted on your facebook...it was rather insensitive and those who dont have this fear fail to understand how awful it can be.
Not sure this has really answered your question but don't let one insensitive comment make your fear worse. you haven't been sick for decades and theres no reason that's about to change
