Hello,

I think once you have anxiety it comes and goes, we may go for years and be fine, then BAM something triggers it....but there is always hope that it can fully be cured....I wish us all the best!!!

Generally I'm keeping a lid on my anxiety these days all I want to do is get back to excersising regularly but as soon as my heart rate goes up my eyes go blurry and I start to panic

Connortyu7, Exercise is the most normal response to our heart rate going up. The problem is for the anxious person is that it is reminiscent of what we feel during an anxiety attack. It's not the same. In anxiety the h/r speeds up because of the adrenaline, in exercising, the h/r speeds up because we are expending some effort in using our muscles.

Your eyes get blurry and you start to panic because of the false thoughts your brain is feeding you. If when you exercise you start slowly by warming up and then as you continue your exercise, make sure you are not holding your breath. Use deep breathing while working out to get the most benefit as well as not cause panic to settle in.

When you are through, hydrate and pat yourself on the back. Good job, well done :)

Take small steps Connortyu7, you'll get there.

I used to work out every day and hard too... something snapped in me and I get all kinds of "jiggy" symptoms and dont work out any more. Has anyone gone for tests to see if they can find anything or you come back clean?

Yes, Connor, the majority recover from anxiety disorder and are never troubled again, some have a genetic predisposition so it can return but if you have learnt how to deal with it such as the Acceptance method you will soon recover once more.
