Fluoxetine 20mg to 40mg

Has any one here gone from 20mg fluoxetine to 40mg? If so did u have side effects? Extra anxiety? How long til u felt normal again? I haven't been feeling well for the last week since I started it on 40 please help me

Hi, I didn't think my 20 mg of fluoxetine were working ! I saw my GP who said after one month double the dose to 40 mg. I did so and felt absolutely dreadful. My anxiety shot up. I chose myself then to stick with 20 mg. please check with your GP. I went back and asked if I could change, then I decided I don't want to go all the initial side effects again ! So Iv stuck with the 20 mg of flouxetine. I do prefer this to any others meds. Iv used it on and off for bouts of anxiety. In the past it never let me down. So Iv chosen to continue with it and ride it out. I'm taking it at night now. Once a night. Didn't have a bad day today tbh ! But it's taken 5 weeks. It works on low mood initially but it takes a while longer to work on the anxiety. So I'm baring with it.

yes, i changed for 20-40 for a few months. it takes about a month for everything to settle, you will likely feel worse in the beginning, but during that time 20 wasn't doing it for me

I'm starting to feel better. It's been about 3 weeks now. Still abit up and down but I'll get there
