If there is anyone reading this and has had acupuncture, I would appreciate hearing about your experience with it. Did it help you? What did u do it for? Was it worth it? How many sessions did you do? I am considering it, but would like feed back. Thank you

Hi panicnomore99, I did have acupuncture for tension/migraine headaches. It did work for me. I had about 6 months worth once a week. It was a good experience. Surprisingly very calming. As much as it was worth it, it does become costly because insurance didn't cover it. Good Luck should you decide to try it. x

Hi! yes I have done it twice a week in the beginning for severe anxiety. Where my mind and body were so off balance and I was in constant fight or flight response- leading to many symptoms really impeding my daily life. I had acupuncture along with cognitive behavioral therapy w a therapist. I felt a big improvement in about two months. Temporarily added relief after first visit. I think I got out of the anxiety feedback loop after about six months of acupuncture. I went down to once a week and after a year I still get it done weekly as a maintenance and way to relax. I also added running and exercise and cut out white sugar or processed food products from my diet trying to eat more green vegetables and fruits. I believe the acupuncture is working and continue to have a weekly session. It ends up costing me about $20 a visit after insurance covers it. If insurance doesn't cover I know there are coming clinics that are affordable too. I wish I could learn to do it to help others, but the schooling is pricey. Good health to you!

Ps I found after searching for acu practitioners i found my medical doctor GP who is trained in China to do acupuncture as well as in US. That's how he's in network for insurance. And our company we work for chose to incorporate acupuncture as being covered for company insurance plan. Having my gp as my acupuncturist is a wealth of information bc he can tell me scientifically what is going on w me and that in itself also calms my anxiety having the knowledge of what's going on. But as for insurance coverage I've found other non medical doctors regular acupuncture practitioners still might take insurance. That's if your insurance plan will cover acu. It's worth calling and speaking to office directly to see how they work.
