Most all of us find it easy to give advice to other neurotics ,but almost none of us could apply the same advice to our own anxieties. Anxiety becomes a dicotamous adventure. It's easy to down play others but can't do the same for ourselves. Strange!!!!

I agree 100%. We neurotics are supposed to be some of the most emotionally self aware, compassionate people there are. There is a disconnect if that is the right word between what we might tell others and what we tell ourselves.
The issue then becomes a question of authenticity. How are we to advise others to feel their feelings and experience their pain and not take heed ourselves.
Through experiencing my own depression and anxiety, I have come to the hard realization that I need to listen to myself and that I am human. I don't have this whole thing figured out so I need to revisit asking for help and allowing another to help me .
Taking my own advice does not symbolize weakness but instead a more profound understanding of what it means to help others by first helping myself.
I hope this isn't too deep and philosophical but that's all I've got to say.
Have a great weekend folks, wherever you are
Not to deep my friend. This is how support groups work by telling others what we can't say to ourselves. The brain is strange. Mark Chopper Read had no fear. I could get into a knife fight and worry less than face the fear of fear. Goodnight mate. From the States with love 🇺🇸
