Klonopin withdraw

Has anyone gone through any Klonopin or clonazepam withdrawal?

Alaskca_Kid, I did go off both Xanax & Ativan which is a comparable benzo drug to Klonopin.

I've been off of Klonopin for eight or nine days but the worst symptoms seem to be occurring now. I called my doctor. I ask him to call me tomorrow.

How long did your detox or withdrawal take?

Did you stop cold turkey?! How long were you on it? And what milligram?

Good question. I had a three day detox and I was taking 1.5 mg per day of Klonopin.

Depending on how long you were on Klonopin can determine how long it takes.

The dose was low. Let's just say I was left on lowest dose of Xanax for 30 years then switched to Ativan for 6 months or so (didn't work) I told psychiatrist I wanted off of these benzos. Because of the length of time on it, it took 2 years weaning slowly. Cutting dose every 2 weeks using the Dr Heather Ashton's method of weaning off Benzos. My psychiatrist specializes in Benzo withdrawal and recommended it. Even after taking 2 years for weaning, the symptoms continued for another 6-9 months after stopping but became less and less bothersome. I hope this helps in explaining tht it is not a quick thing. The brain needs time to heal when having been on meds for a long time. Then one day it was like a light switch went on and I knew I was going to be okay.
