Eye floaters
Sometimes antibiotics can cause eye floaters. Avoid fluoroquinolones. I've had floaters off and on from that.
Hi Ashley - I don't know if it will help but I went to the Docs/Opticians when I was 19 as I was extremely worried about what I now know are 'floaters'. I am now 63 and although I was prescribed glasses for general eyesight about 5 years ago (which I admit not to wearing apart from driving...) my eyesight is pretty good for age. I hardly notice my floaters now - apart from playing with them against a white background!! and I don't feel they have got any 'worse' since all those years ago. I understand them to be tiny pieces of congealed matter (?) in what is otherwise a clear liquid in the eye (?) - please I'm no expert...
Again, not that it may necessarily help, but I also understand it is a very common phenomenon. Take care.
Hi there. I have/had these and it used to irritate and sometimes terrify me (I tend to catastrophize if I am not careful). I was told it was part of my migraine associated dizziness and an aura you get etc. but I get them daily so I never really bought into all that. I have regular eye exams with the optician - I wear contacts and glasses - and I also had tests with ophthalmologists and the tests always came back as healthy, normal. However, I was never really happy with these reassurances as I knew something wasn't right - not having a diagnosis I think makes one worry more.
Anyhow after numerous tests and as the years drifted by I just accepted it as part of being me. Then recently I went for my usual check-up for my contacts/glasses and had a new optician see me as my usual one had left the company. He said, "You have really dry eyes, I recommend you use drops to relieve your dry eyes". So I went away and purchased Dry Eye drops from the pharmacist and have not looked back. Finally! Something so simple and after all these years of worry and stress! I have these drops at my desk, in my bag and at home so I can use them as I need them, it has made a vast difference to me.
I don't know why this was not picked-up earlier by all the people I saw before. I don't know if this is what you suffer from but it may be worth mentioning at your next eye test. Good Luck!
Ive had these for a couple. Of Months when i notice them thats when they become irritating. Eye dr said i was ok & they are from the gel or something in our eye i cant remember 100% of what she said but you will learn to ignore them after awhile
