Sometimes I feel that way too when I'm heading out somewhere, but I think it's also because (in my case) I always have the thought in the back of my head that anxiety is just looming around. But that's the thing just having a thought of what if in the back of your head, it will just mess with you the rest of the time. I'll get stomach upset, headache, nausea, sometimes even just odd little pains at different points in my body. Thats the misery when your doing anxiety. Remember it is you that can control it just like any stupid thought that comes in your head, dot let ruin your day, in fact absorb yourself in the atmosphere of your prom and don't focus on those negative feelings.
Hi Babyexx, are you in physical pain? A school prom is a very exciting and memorable time of your life. A happy excitement can still cause all the symptoms that anxiety does. You breathe a little faster, your heart rate accelerates and there is just this joy that can't be contained. The answer is always the same for the good and bad feelings and that is to calm yourself down with deep breathing which will slow down the hyper feeling.
If you mean the continued body pain that you have been experiencing, deep breathing may help some but hydrating will help if it is muscle tightness causing your physical pain. Feel better, let us know how the prom goes. If we can help,in some way, please come back on the forum x
Just have your hair done, and your nails, put on your beautiful dress, feel like you're a princess, take lots of photos and the rest will come. Others have already talked to you about your pain and anxiety, so I don't need to that. Yea!
