Health anxiety
Francine23, you are NOT going to die because nobody dies from anxiety. You must ask yourself what got you into this state? You must have been under a lot of worry and stress to arrive at this point. So first you should try to eliminate those things that have caused your nervous system to become over sensitised. To do that you should put yourself first and take drastic action to remove the source of the stress from your life. Maybe ask for the advice of a wise person you can trust to help you.
But now you are nervously sensitised and the symptoms this causes creates more fear which sensitises your nerves further. So you end up in a vicious circle of symtoms causing fear causing more symptoms causing more fear in a self perpetuating process. Francine23, you must break that vicious circle of constantly resensitising your nerves and when you do you will be the person you once were again, you will regain your quiet mind.
Anxiety is fraudulent, it mimics real physical symptoms but they are not real they are fake. Some people get palpitations and heart pain but it's not heart disease it's anxiety, that's why anxiety is a fraud. It can't do you permanent damage of any sort, can't kill or disable you, it's a confidence trickster. And the anxiety can continue even when we're asleep and give us nightmares. So how do you escape from all these bad feelings? By doing the very opposite to what you've been doing so far. STOP fighting the feelings because fighting only causes more tension and stress and makes things worse. When you stop fighting and start ACCEPTING those bad feelings temporarily and accept them with the minimum of fear you stop frightening yourself half to death and your sensitised nerves beging to recover. Why fear feelings that are only caused by glitches in your overloaded nervous system, feelings that are 100% fake?
So that's the story, Francine23, you must practice accepting the bad feelings for the time being, lose your fear of this bully caused anxiety, call its bluff, just carry on with your life accepting anxiety as a minor irritation and in the fullness of time you will recover. This is the way, this is the only way.
Right now I take an anxiety pill and a sleeping pill. They help with the anxiety when I feel it's out of control and the sleeping pill allows me to sleep better. It may be an option for you to consider. When I'm having an anxiety attack and nothing seems to help me breathe, then I take the anxiety pill.
