It could be, anxiety shows itself in many ways.

I think a visit to your gp would be best.

I wish you well

I agree that it sounds like it could be anxiety. It manifests itself in many ways. If you haven't discussed it with your doctor yet, I think it makes sense to start there. Maybe ruling things out will make you feel better. Take care of yourself.

I have been to the doctor about 2 months ago and i had a blood test and they said everything is ok i started taking kalms 2 weeks ago to try and help me relax but i just wake up in the morning and feel sick i find it hard to eat toast and i am always worrying i have something very serious wrong with me and i don't think that helps me. I'm finding it hard to do anything at the moment, I'm scared to leave my house incase I'm sick and i am constantly thinking i need to eat all the time

in reply toSamsouth

I have exactly the same symptoms as you and it is horrible but I do find listening to relaxation cds help. If you google mood juice there loads to download, also rescue remedy pastilles are very good. x

I'm sorry that you are going through this. When I was younger, I constantly felt sick to my stomach. I used to carry around a roll of tums or rolaids and that seemed to help. Not sure the antacids actually did anything for me physically, but in my head, they did the job. :)

I'm 22 and can anxiety just make your stomach so uncomfortable and make you feel sick with no appetite? I don't even know why i feel like this

I looked at chutestoonarrow's calm clinic website and I think it's a great thing for you to check out! I've added it to my list of things to do for self help to conquer anxiety. If you want my list I'll post it here, just say so. It's drug free and these things on it have met with success from people on this site.

What i am saying with my symptoms, does it sound like it's anxiety?

in reply toSamsouth

It sounds like it could be but you need to chat to your dr. he or she will confirm it for you and then you can go from there x

I have been to the doctor today and he has told me to go and talk to someone about my symptoms he thinks it sounds like anxiety but how is this going to make me not feel sick and feel hungry again?

in reply toSamsouth

Hi

I thought the same as you but I went along and had 4 sessions of counselling and was surprised at how much it helped by talking to someone you really should try it. I did find going private better tho. Good luck and feel fre to chat to me if it helps x

I just feel so sick and have no appetite and my hands are always sweaty i just can't believe this is anxiety i think he has to be something else

Yes, it does, but there are some other health conditions that also have your symptoms, or most of them. That's why you should see your GP and tell him or her all of your symptoms and get a complete physical including blood testing with a thyroid panel, not just a TSH, and anything else the doctor wants to check on. A CBC (Complete Blood Count) will show if you're anemic and need additional iron and that will be ordered without you saying anything to your doctor. Another standard test will be a CMP or Complete Metabolic Panel which are all of your chemistries which check on liver, kidney, heart and pancreas function.

If you didn't have anxiety as your primary problem, you are reacting to the problem with additional anxiety for sure. But that's probably normal and something most people would do. You might want to try your best to not be anxious about the problem you see, to let it be without getting too anxious about it. To kind of feel laid back about seeing what it does to you and have a "so what...I didn't ask for this...there's not much I can do to change this, and I didn't create this problem. I'm just going to go back to what I was doing..." kind of attitude.

To keep your actions low key. Do you think you can do this? This is a way to fight back. By stubbornly being laid back and the immovable force. A new, better-looking Jabba the Hut who reigns over your kingdom and whose orders are obeyed. And for heaven's sake, rename yourself!! How about Ganna the Jot? Frowwa the Bok? Dobba the Gut?

I have been to the doctors and i have had a blood test but i can't remember what blood test it was and they came back normal. I told him my symptoms of feeling sick and always a uncomfortable feeling in my stomach and having sweaty hands and feet sometimes. He told me to go and see an anxiety person to talk about it more but he didn't want to do any tests on me but why is that?

BonnieSue profile image
BonnieSue in reply toSamsouth

He may not have any tests for that. Who did he say is an "anxiety person"?

Samsouth profile image
Samsouth in reply toBonnieSue

I thought maybe they would want to do some tests like where they put the tube down your throat to look in your stomach and it is a building near where i live, he says they know more about anxiety and decide if it is anxiety or not i think

BonnieSue profile image
BonnieSue in reply toSamsouth

Maybe, but it's not really necessary. So try to avoid that. We know you have anxiety greater than normal. You need to be in a group for that problem, and the meds for that problem.

Samsouth in reply toBonnieSue

I'm taking them kalm tablets to try and help and the doctor has given me some tablets to try and help with the sickness feeling. What do you mean a group?

Samsouth it is most probably not anxiety, unless your GP didn't find any cause. I think it is dyspepsia ( due to esophagitis or gastritis). If there is no past or family history of anxiety then do not diagnose yourself as anxiety. I have read ur other replies above. (Reason I am sure it is not Anxiety is that I am a medical doctor myself). As long as you do not get diagnosed properly, keep a single cardamom in mouth while going to bed, slowly chew it till i sleep but do not swallow it.

I had blood test and test my heart rate and said all is normal i told him my symptoms and he has told me to go and speak to someone and take an anxiety test

I have had the same symptoms. I can eat but I have lost weight. I went to the gyno and had an ultrasound and it cleared. I then went to the GP had blood and it was completely normal. Then today was my CT Scan waiting for those.

My GP believes I have health anxiety and put me on medication. But again the CT scan will tell me if there is more there.

Maybe go back to him and say I want to have a scan. You have to be an advocate for your own health no one else will be!

I'm confused to why i have felt ok for a few days and then ill again and then back to feeling ok for 2 days and then ill again

in reply toSamsouth

That is how it is with anxiety x

Betha profile image

It is what it does to you. I feel fine and then I feel like I can't eat. Not so much my stomach but my nerves are so shot that I'm like afraid to it. Do you constantly look up your symptoms online and not believing in what the doctor tells you.

Samsouth profile image
Samsouth in reply toBetha

Yes i keep thinking the worst and i think it makes me feel more ill, i can't get my mind off it. My stomach feels so uncomfortable and constantly rumbling at the moment

Betha profile image
Betha

Yes believe me I get it. I am not sure where you live but I live in Boston and my doctor after telling me my blood results that they were normal I asked her for a CT Scan to make sure everything is normal. She agreed and the insurance is paying for it. You will continue making yourself sick. I am still anxious waiting for the results and I don't know if they are good will I be normal. I am on medication but my mind still goes to the negative part of everything.

Betha in reply toSamsouth

You need to call your doctor and tell them your symptoms. Also, speak to a therapist. I have a therapist and she will begin with CBT/Cognitive Behavior Therapy. there are tons of things online as well. I am doing a module for Helping Health Anxiety! I am on module 4.

I was recently diagnosed with iron deficiency and had all of these symptoms and more. I urge you to get a CBC and iron and ferritin check at your GP's office, asap. If it is iron deficiency, it can cause serious issues if untreated.

Samsouth profile image
Samsouth in reply toelizabethbinion

Wouldn't my blood test shown if i needed iron?

elizabethbinion profile image
elizabethbinion in reply toSamsouth

Typically your doc only does a CBC unless you specifically ask for iron and ferritin panels. I had to ask for mine.

Hi samsouth I live in England to.your doctor would of checked loads of things from that blood test and that includes full blood count to check for aniemia.anxiety can cause all sorts of tummy problems and also loose bowels etc.when I get anxious I can't eat as my stomachs feels all tense and knotted up.its very common anxiety symptom .I am 61 and had anxiety off and on most of my life.it does get better and getting help CBT treatment is very good as it helps you to understand how we get anxious over things. And by talking about it with a therapist really is very helpful .good luck you will soon be feeling better.

Samsouth in reply tojessiejakes

I told him I'm a little constipated, i don't have loose bowels. Sometimes it takes me like 3 days to go to the toilet and he just told me to lots of fruit and things

Betha profile image

My doctor did a full CBC including if I was anemic or not which I'm not so I don't need iron.

My cat scan came back all clear. No abnormalities!!
