Depersonalization/realization
I been struggling with derealization for 6 weeks now. Started when I was fighting off panic attacks and I still got all the other symptoms. Derealization, depression, anxiety, and so on. Now everything looks intense and dreamish. And then it freaks me out so I start fighting off panic attacks. I start looking around the room and all of a sudden this warm weird vibration starts in my head. And then I can't feel my body just my eyes.Feels unreal. And if I don't calm down I go into full panic attack with tunnel vision. It's hell.
I honestly believe that dr/dp are the worst anxiety symptoms . I pretty much experienced all of the physical symptoms , especially panic attacks , but what makes dr/dp more of a hell is that it robs us of our identity and sense of reality . I hate it so much . Makes me feel like I'm going insane . I've had it for a year now . I started to experience it after taking Zoloft . As a result , I stopped cold turkey . It was so much more scarier and intense in the beginning . Now I guess I got used to it and it subsided a bit , but there are moments that it gets bad .
Oh man.... I'm on Zoloft now. I wonder if it's making it worst.... this is so scary. I agree with everything you said.
Did you have dr before taking it or after ? And much is your dose if you don't mind me asking ?
I had it before. That's the reason I went in to the doctors. I kept fighting off panic attacks and this derealization crap came. My dose right now is 100mg. I been on that for 4 days. The low dosages weren't going anything. I been on Zoloft for 36 days. I hate taking medicine. I actually got Dp when I was a teen and I fought it without medication. Took a long time but eventually it went away. Now I'm an adult and got it and can't fight it. It's disturbing
It really is disturbing . Prior to my clinical diagnosis of anxiety , I had an epiosode of dr/dp because of a panic attack . Then , I didn't know what it was . I was able to fight it off and it only lasted me a few hours . But after taking Zoloft the symptom stuck to me .
I am willing to try anything to get rid of this nightmare. I hope you get better soon. I don't wish this upon anyone. I'm going to start working out or something. I also tried yoga and I will continue to try things until is gone.
I suffered with panic attacks 20 years ago in my late teens didn't take any meds just therapy and got over it in about 4 months never looked back had a normal life. And then 6 months ago started having panic attacks again now am an adult with a job and family am finding it very difficult to get over it this time, I think it's because I have more responsibility now children, job etc trying to keep strong for the kids.
I got it from Zoloft, too off it for 10 days and it comes back hardcore when anxious
Has anyone ever seen the film 'Numb' with Matthew Perry. He suffers from this condition in the film. Worth a look.
I want to get a massage. All the physical contact I think will help me get back into my body.
When I have a dissociative episode I just feel generally disconnected and detached from my body and surroundings.
