Anxiety meds

So I recently has this dumb idea to stop taking my meds because I no longer had anxiety. But now my body feels weird. My hands and legs are shaky. Could this be from not taking the meds?

Most likely. What medications were you taking? SSRI's take a while to build up in your system, so when coming off of them some side effects will occur. Any type of Benzo though shouldn't be quit immediately, those need to be weaned off of.

Alyssa21, oh yes, big time. Depending what you were on and how long you were on it, could cause all kinds of weird symptoms. I'm assuming you stop it on your own w/o your doctor's advice. You may be in for a ride. Let us know any updates. Might be a good idea to give your doctor a head's up as to what is happening. I wish you well...

I decided to go back on them and wait until my check up with the doctor to be weaned off of them

A wise move Alyssa21. Good Luck. Let me know how it goes cause one day I will be weaning off Lexapro as well. Feel better.

Yes, this is how I felt when I abruptly stopped taking SSRIs. May be better off going back on them and slowly weaning off, to avoid these nasty symptoms and generally feeling worse. Try to get advice from your doctor, either way. Best of luck
