I'm just having such a hard time trying to figure out what's real and what's not. I have a pretty bad cold that's making it difficult to breath. And most days that's already hard enough with the anxiety. I can't catch a break this winter and keep getting sick and each time I went to the doc. Should I go back this time even if it's just to ease my mind?

It's hard to tell what's real.
Hello
Sorry you are not feeling well , I know when I am not well my mind can go into overtime !
Sounds like you suffer with Health Anxiety and yes you could go to the Doctor but if it is a common cold there is nothing they will do other than maybe give you some reassurance but when we have Health Anxiety that reassurance does not last long and then something else happens and we are back again so it is like a viscous circle
Are you having therapy or had any , either way if I was thinking of going to the Doctors it would be to ask to be referred for some because without help this is a very hard cycle to break and therapy would really help you in trying to do so
I know a lot of anxiety sufferers seem to get run down and pick everything up and there has been a few posts as a lot of us seem to suffer with low vitamin D which can be the reason we are more prone picking up virus' s , have you had a blood test to see what your level of vitamin D is ? this could be something else you could ask to be checked
I hope you feel better soon

I was like this a few weeks ago. I found a nasal spray decongestant really helped, especially at night. Try it - ask your pharmacist. Also slow deep breathing for a few minutes can do wonders for anxious feelings. Take a deep breathe from diaphragn. Hold it for a few seconds, then release. Concentrate on your breathing and repeat. It does work. Good luck.
