Book by David Paul?: Someone had a post for... - Anxiety Support
Book by David Paul?
Hey its Paul David life at last
Thanks all.....found it and got a Kindle installed on my IPad at the library.....only cost 9.99. So far the book is very interesting and informative.
Check out his website too. AnxietyNoMore.co.uk. He has just published a second book too and can find details on the site. I bought the first book, along with a book called Essential Help for your Nerves by the late Dr Claire Weekes (title may differ slightly depending on version) and both helped me greatly on my road to recovery.
Both teach the exact same approach to overcome anxiety; facing your fears, not running away/avoiding them, accepting the symptoms of anxiety that you fear instead of fighting them (it's the fighting to rid yourself of anxiety that keeps it going), floating past or being comfortable about feeling uncomfortable and letting time pass because time is the great healer and you can't hurry recovery.
If you follow the advice, you will recover too. It isn't easy (at first) but nothing in life that is worth having comes easy. The way to recovery becomes so ingrained, you will never lose the skill to dig yourself out of the hole, in the unlikely event that it should happen again. I choose the word unlikely because on your journey to recovery, you learn to lose the fear which is the root cause of ALL anxiety related disorders. Without fear, anxiety doesn't materialise.
It's all very enlightening.
