Good morning Jenkral16, you will not going to die because it is just your negative thought due to the attack of the anxiety. When the attack come and you will have negative thoughts that cause you more anxious and intense fears. Just remember that this is because of the anxiety level is quite high. As for me when I'm having anxiety attack I hardly breath and I have to do breathing exercise. I hope you feel better soon.

I'm going though this right now (initial episode started about a month ago). It does get better, but it may take time. I also relapsed last week, but neither time as severe as the initial episode. I've identified my triggers and fears however, which is a start. I'm in a new city, lack social skills, fear losing what friends/family I have for support, and fear I'll never build a family of y own (dating life is non-existent). I'm in my late twenties as well, so this might also be overlapping with a quarterlife-crisis, making it worse for me.

I'm currently seeing a shrink and self-treating by reading a lot more (especially those regarding cognitive behavioral therapy and changing how you perceive your problems).

It's important to reach out to people you feel like understand your problem or at least are compassionate enough to talk you through it. Going at this alone is very hard and honestly, I'm not sure I would have made it this far with out my therapist, my family, and a close friend.
