Sleeping and waking up suddenly like you stopped breathing
Hi Lilianxious, I've had it myself many times when my anxiety was at it's worse. It's like I would wake up suddenly and gasp (as you have) scared to death. It was as if my brain continued hanging onto the anxiety of the day. So that the minute I would start coming out of a deep sleep, my brain would switch to on mode and cause the gasp. That as well as my being on different meds at that time didn't help. For me it wasn't sleep apnea, it stopped as soon as I was off meds as well as having gotten better emotionally. Take care Lilian x
Hey there I used to get this so bad! I went through a spell of it, lasted a few month's but seems to have eased off now, I only get it now and again and I find it's when things in life become stressful it will happen, I don't think it's anything to worry about my GP says it's apart or stress and anxiety.
Do you snore?? I have wicked anxiety too. But I also have been diagnosed with sleep apnea. When you wake up like that ,it could be you've stopped breathing and are struggling to take a breath. Just a thought ❤️
Hi, its not new for me ( 2 times per year) but one night I suddenly wake up and jumping because I unable to breath it like I am not takeing air. So after that I start jumping and moving here and there try to breath for 5 to 10 sec but I won't but suddenly after 10sec I start breathing. But during the first 5 to 10 sec it was like hell for me and there is another thing I notice when I unable to breath I feel something inside in food pipe, I get a acidic feeling or smell little bit but my tumy is good. Like someone just plunged my food pipe...... Be honest its better if someone not going through this type of operation.
