Haven't posted on here for a while as I've been working hard to overcome my anxiety and I'm pretty much there! I barely have any of the symptoms I use to and I'm feeling like my old self again!
This in mind I've had a bit of a set back this week (which my therapist says is notmal) but I wanted some reassurance from you..
I've been waking up in the middle of the night with a really tight chest? To the point it feels like I can't breathe? But I can... It almost feels like it's coming from my tummy, can anyone else relate to this? Or is it something I should go doctors for; it can make me feel quite panicky!

I have for sure felt that, right now actually! It's like I can breath, but my chest feels heavy in a weird way, not like heart thing more like coming from stomach. I take tums immediately to calm it, helps. (Don't know if it's a mental thing there lol) my Dr told me that a nervous stomach creates so much more acid. Which in turn creates more indigestion and heart burn which for me lately makes me feel like I'm not breathing deep enough, whiiiiich causes me anxiety and that panic feeling ugh what a cycle. But yes I have this symptom very often just to help reassure you
Yes, I've gone through that. I noticed after chronic and intense anxiety I get all these strange symptoms afterwards. I hate it! I do my best to not overthink it so much.
It only seems to be noticeable when I get into bed. I've recently started back up exercising regularly which I stopped doing due to my anxiety thinking exercising would give me a heart attack or make me chronic dizzy so maybe this is still a little subconsciously in my mind.
I agree with your therapist, it is anxiety, sometimes we get things on our minds and these cause various symptoms. I do not think you have anything serious, this is just a mild setback it will go away, obviously get checked out f it doesn't stop. Well done for getting better ππππππ
