Hey Mcat63, I'm new to this forum thing. I wanted to give you my support on this matter as I can relate to health anxiety. For years I worried something was wrong with me and even though I recently was diagnosed with my thyroid issue, the anxiety caused by my obsession created a cascade of multiple other physiological concerns. It was not until I changed the habit of obsessing did my internal being and the life I viewed around me imrpove. I hope you do not give up on yourself. Recognizing is half the battle.
All the best to you.
God speed.
Hello,
Thank you so much for your kind response to my concerns. I am new to this forum also and too am in need of support. My therapist / life coach has been trying to help me through this obsession. It's hard to break out of it. What has helped so far is not sitting thinking too much about my fears for my anxiety for too long.
I have thought about wood turning as a hobby. A suggestion by my therapist.
I know when I don't think about my anxiety I don't have it .
Thank you again. If you have any suggestions please share.
Hey natejohnson0201,
I recently was diagnosed with hypo. It was a very noticable issue for me. I felt extreme fatigue, more than a normal exhausting day would normally feel like. No amount of sleep was enough, my anxiety was very high even before this issue which I am certain did not help my current situation.
My endocrinologist was able to feel my enlarged thyroid.
Another noticable symptom for me was increased weight gain. I am a triathelete. My physical activity level has been high my whole life, and then I noticed the fatigue along with the weight gain.
If you have not already been tested for thryoid issues, it would be good to rule that out if you strongly feel you may have it, or if it runs in your genetics.
One thing to keep in mind, those symptoms are veyr common for many diseases. All I can say is to find a way to stay positive and relax and know people care.
All the best to you.
God speed.
I think Im hyper. Well,my thyroxine levels are higher than normal and Im going to visit my endo, but its annoying because she keeps rescheduling. Anyway,I read that hypo/hyperthyroidism can actually cause anxiety and other mental symptoms. Its hard to believe for me,but I try to. Anyway, my symptoms are: depersonalization/derealization 24/7, feeling like im going to die or lose touch with reality, irritability, anxiety, lack of sleep, weakness, feeling likw I might fall over, feeling exhausted all the time, feeling like I have a cold, weightloss and appetite loss. I hope you are okay, and if you are hypo, don't worry, its treatable.
Hey! Thank you for the response. I'm think I fall under this as well. Def would like to rule it out . I'm working on making an appt with my endo. As well. Thank you for the response.
